How To Install A Motorcycle Windshield

The first thing that comes into play are the diameters of your headlight. The motorcycle headlight is the object that your windshield will be placed upon and if it does not fit properly you my run into issues. Another option you can take if you forget to mention the diameters of your headlight is making the purchase of a universal windshield. A universal windshield will allow you to fit the windshield into place with out a problem.
Picking out the windshield is your next step. The motorcycle windshield that you choose will have to suit your riding style and the type of riding you do (touring, sporting, small trips, etc.). Be sure once you find the style you wish to own to measure the height of the top of your windshield and make sure that the angle matches the forks. This will help to ensure a smooth install.
Now you are going to have to purchase the right mounting kit for you and your bike. Using a mounting kit is an easier, less time consuming install. Be sure to have at least 40 minutes of free time for the installing process. This varies by skill but is a good round off of the time it will take to install your motorcycle windshield.
Now is the time to install your motorcycle windshield. First you must level off your bike and put the kick stand down for extra safety. Warm up your windshield before hand as this makes the job much easier. Now, carefully remove protective covering starting from the edge. Make sure there are no wires sticking out and install the included screws. Double check that your bike's windshield is securely fastened and ride on the open road.
